Banjar District Government is ready to make big changes in waste management. What so far have been problems will be transformed into potential and usefulness through innovation and better management independently by the community.

One hundred people from various group, including fighters and practitioners of the environment, from villages till offices, were trained to become agents of change to make waste management innovations in their respective areas.

"We want better waste management and environmental preservation in Banjar District, thus community participation is needed," said Regent Khalilurrahman through Assistant for Economy and Development M Rusdi in Martapura, Sunday. 

Previously, Rusdi opened the socialization of waste management innovation model through strengthening ecoliteracy toward green behavior which was organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (PMK) in cooperation with the Banjar Development Planning, Research and Development Agency(Bappedalitbang) in Martapura, Friday (27/11). 

The activity was attended by the Head of Bappedalitbang Galuh Tantri Narindra and the Head of Environment Agency Boyke W Tristiyanto.

A waste management activist from Sukunan Village, Sleman District, Yogyakarta, Dr Iswanto shared how he first motivated residents in his village to be able to manage waste. 

While Chief of Panggungharjo Village, Bantul, Yogyakarta, Wahyudi Anggoro Hadi talked about village management until it progressed and won national and international awards. 

Assistant Deputy for Mental Revolution of the Coordinating Minitry for Human Development and Culture Alfredo Sani Fenat said that mental revolution one of which is to change people's mindset and behavior in waste management.
