At an Asia-Pacific business forum, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) vowed that the implementing regulations for the Omnibus Law on Job Creation will be completed at the earliest.

Consequently, the business world can bear witness to the benefits of regulatory improvements.

"Currently, the government is finalizing the implementing regulations of the Omnibus Law. We will finalize the implementing regulations as soon as possible,” President Jokowi stated at the 2020 APEC CEO Dialogues witnessed in Jakarta, Thursday.

President Jokowi believes these regulatory and bureaucratic reforms will offer leverage for Indonesia's economic growth.

To this end, the head of state invited entrepreneurs and company leaders in the Asia-Pacific region to capitalize on business opportunities in Indonesia.

"I invite CEOs and entrepreneurs in the Asia-Pacific region to tap into the opportunities arising from the recently passed Omnibus Law," President Jokowi stated.

Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso had earlier spoken of the government having prepared a program on disseminating information and public consultation on all derivative regulations of the Job Creation Law in the form of draft government and presidential regulations.

Moegiarso noted that the government had offered space for the community to become more active in offering inputs. This is since government and presidential regulations will further regulate the various regulatory norms stipulated in the Job Creation Law.

This derivative regulation of the Job Creation Law will also describe in further detail to become the basis for operational implementation of all provisions stipulated in the Job Creation Law.

"The government is preparing a program for raising awareness and public consultation on all draft government regulations and draft presidential decrees derived from the Job Creation Law to provide a clear and complete understanding to the public, so that the people providing inputs have firstly understood the substance. As a result, the inputs given can become more focused and substantive," Susiwijono noted in an official statement.

President Joko Widodo officially signed the Job Creation Law on November 2, 2020, that was earlier approved at the DPR plenary meeting on October 5, 2020.
