Barabai, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - District Government of Central Hulu Sungai in South Kalimantan retains Meratus mountains away from mining and other sectors that impair the function and preservation of forests in the region.


HST Regent Harun Nurasid in Barabai on Tuesday said such efforts can be seen from a long-term plan of development of the district, which does not include mountains Meratus as mining area.

HST decision appreciated by Head of Management Ecoregion Tri Build Leksana Sony, who came to HST some time ago.

According to Sony, Regency HST needs to gain an appreciation for the preservation of nature and the firm maintains never published even to provide recommendations for coal mining permits.

"The consistency was really hard, as based on the information the earth of HST has a very large deposit of black gold," he said.

Salute speech was revealed by the Head of PPE, which is an agency under the Ministry of Environment (MOE) of the Republic of Indonesia.

He also appreciated the existence and performance of local government who has never tired of keeping the HST environmental sustainability.

He is proud of the HST is still a virgin Meratus and coal are not accommodated in the Long Term Development Plan of HST local regulation.
