Martapura, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Banjar Police in South Kalimantan supports the forestfire countermeasure posts (Posko) established by the district government.


"Banjar Police support by placing personnel in any disaster response post " said Banjar Police Chief AKBP Daru Cahyono in Martapura on Friday.

Six posts in five subdistricts have been established by Banjar district in the framework of forestfire emergency.

In Subdistrict Gambut, the post located at Gambut Sector Police. A total of 25 personnel in charge here from the army, police, BPBDs staff, district's Natural Resource Conservation Center, as well as forest agency staff.

While in the Simpang Empat Subdistrict post in Simpang Empat Sector Police, seven officer on duty, as well as in the post at the West Martapura Sector Police.

Then, seven personnel at the Mangala Agni Office for Karang Intan Subdistrict post. While for Subdistrict Martapura town it divided in two places. One at the Bincau Village with seven personnel and the other at Gedung Juang Martapura with 25 officers.

The posts establish as quickl preparedness in fire accident prevention, both residential fires and forestfires and land.

"After forest fire then smog occurs, so it is quite disturbing activities of the community. It need quick and precise action taken in its handling," he said.

Banjar police station in the face of forest and land fires take preemptive action, preventive and repressive to prevent and cope with disasters.

"Steps taken are distributing masks, dissemination or counseling until the extinction of fire at the fire spot to prevent the fire to spread," he said.
