State oil and gas firm Pertamina saw its aviation turbine (avtur) fuel sales in June 2020 in Bali plunging up to 96 percent to 2 thousand kiloliters from 74 thousand kiloliters in the same month last year.

Avtur fuel consumption has not recovered, with the number of flights until September reaching 30 to 50 per day compared to 250 per day earlier, PT Pertamina Human Capital Director Koeshartanto said while inspecting energy distribution facility here on Saturday.

Koeshartanto inspected the facility along PT Pertamina Business Development Director M. Haryo Yunianto and PT Pertamina Executive General Manager for Jatimbalinus Regional Marketing, CD. Sasongko,

Koeshartanto said avtur fuel sales hit a record low of 2 thousand kiloliters in June 2020 compared to 74 thousand kiloliters in the corresponding period last year,

He expressed the hope that the Bali economy will recover soon, for which full support from the energy sector covering fuel oil, liquefied petroleum gas (gas) and avtur is needed.

Pertamina's energy distribution facilities in Bali are ready to operate at full capacity to meet energy needs in support of economic growth, he said.

The visit to Manggis integrated terminal located in Karangasem district was aimed at ensuring workers in the field are in good health and monitoring the application of health protocols to contain the spread of COVID-19 in energy distribution facilities, he said.

The Manggis integrated terminal has so far supplied fuel oil to 200 gas stations, 18 LPG stations in nine districts and one municipality in Bali, he said.

The integrated terminal has a total capacity of storing 153 thousand kiloliters of fuel oil and supplies an average of 2,300 kiloliters per day to gas stations. To supply an average of 780 metric tons of LPG per day it has a total capacity of storing 5,600 metric tons.
