Martapura, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Banjar District's Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) now handling clean water crisis that hit some areas due to drought.


Head of Banjar BPBDs Nor Sunarto in Martapura on Sunday said, there are some areas experiencing water crisis due to springs and wells are drying.

"Drought besides causing bush fires also made ​​a number of areas experiencing water crisis, so we went down to help solve it," he said.

BPBDs handling clean water crisis through distributing water to the two subdistricts namely Tatah Makmur and Aluh-Aluh. Clean water crisis experienced by people in the two areas was quite severe as wells dry while water river salty due to seawater intrusion.

"The distribution of clean water to Tatah Makmur directed to six villages using water reservoirs former Asset Management of PAM SIMAS project as many as 20 pieces with capacity of 1,200 liters," he said.

While the distribution of clean water to Aluh-Aluh physically constrained by rehabilitated bridge and is feared still not strong for water transport vehicle to cross.
