Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Chief of Sabhara (rapid response) of Banjarmasin City Police Commissioner MT Haryono said the case of oplosan liquor began to bloom in Banjarmasin.


"Every time patrol officers go around the city often nab drunks for drinking oplosan (deadly alcoholic cocktail)," he said Sunday.

For example, Sunday morning (10/8), officers again netted six more drunk on oplosan drinking fiest or drinking alcohol only.

Three of them netted on Jalan RK Ilir and three others at siring "Pantai Jodoh", the embankment of Martapura River on Jalan Sudirman Banjarmasin.

"Two days earlier, we also secured two students of Junior High School (SMP) binge drinking oplosan," said the police officer.

Before securing the two students, his staffs, during the same night arrested six oplosan alcohol drinker at Siring Jalan Piere Tenden Banjarmasin.

"Similarly, in earlier days. Almost every night patrols, we often find actors who are binge drinking again," he added.

He confirmed, police would continue to conduct raids, especially tackling social problems in society, such as drunks, prostitutes (WTS), and others who disturb public order and safety (kamtibmas).
