Amuntai, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Public Order Agency experiencing difficulty to curb homeless and beggars, because of the lack of means of support.

Head of HSU Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) Sugeng Riyadi in Amuntai on Tuesday said, the agency has not allocated a budget for regulating homeless and beggars (gepeng), so that each netted, they were given only a reprimand or be asked to sign a statement to stop begging activity on the highway or city area and surrounding Amuntai.

"Actually after raided, they must be deported to their hometown to receive guidance and rehabilitation from Social Agency. But unfortunately it can not be done, because there is no budget," he said.

Sugeng revealed that the majority of sprawl (gepeng) are from outside the region who seek to earn a fortune in HSU.

He worried about beggars who come from outside region are coordinated, so if not curbed will bring up the issue at a later date.

Satpol PP could establish agreement with Social, Population and Labor Agency in the future to rehabilate the sprawl and return them to their original sites.
