Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Syamsudin Noor Banjarmasin Airport Authority  added 23 flights that of normal flight schedules during Eid 1435 Hijri peak seasons. 


Syamsudin Noor Airport Service Section Head, Heru Widiatmo, in Banjarbaru on Saturday said that the additional flights comes from two airlines. 

"Airlines adding flight schedules are Lion Air 19 times for destination of Surabaya and Citilink for four flights to Surabaya from 23 to 26 July 2014," he said. 

Total normal flights at Syamsudin Noor in one day 40 to 44 times, but with the additional flight schedule increased to 50 to 52 flights a day. 

"The most destinations is to Surabaya, Yogyakarta and Semarang in addition, while flights to Jakarta are normal," he said. 

According to him, the number of passengers for the destination of Surabaya is quite a lot from people who live in "Earth of LambungMangkurat" (nickname for South Kalimantan). They are mudik (visiting home) using the momentum of Eid. 

District Branch Manager of Citylink Banjarmasin Lenita Devi said, adding flights is made to meet the demand of the passengers, especially for Surabaya destination.
