Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Head of the South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Dyan Pramono Effendi said, the average income of farming households in the province in 2013 was Rp12,61 million per year or Rp1.05 million per month. 


"Overview farming household income is based on the results of a complete enumeration of the 2013 agricultural census (ST) and survey of household income and farm business in 2013," he said in Banjarmasin, Thursday. 

Based on a survey and 2013 ST, the revenue contribution of the agriculture sector 43.35 percent of total farm household income. 

The interesting thing about the structure of farm household income both 2004 and 2013 were the size of the portion of the income derived from labor outside the agricultural sector, which is 20.65 percent and businesses outside the agricultural sector contributed 15.82 percent. 

In 2013, the plantation sub-sector contributes most to the household income amounted to 42.21 percent of the farm's total revenue derived from agricultural activities. 

Which also make a significant contribution to the income of the farm household is rice crops (27.17 percent), livestock subsector (8.17 percent), and horticulture sub-sector 6.26 percent. 

Households in South Kalimantan with main income from fish farming in freshwater ponds Rp62.9 million/year and in public waters Rp40,9 million/year, of marine fish farming Rp12.2 million/year and the cultivation of rice and pulses Rp19.04 million/year. 

He revealed, tilapia, catfish, catfish and milkfish is a type of fish most commonly cultivated by households. Five districts have coastal waters or brackish water and the potential for fish farming, namely in Kotabaru, Tanah Bumbu, Tanah Laut, Kuala Barito and Banjar.
