Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - National roads across the district, between Batulicin (Tanah Bumbu) and Lumpangi (South Hulu Sungai/HSS), which is usually used as an alternative pathway for the travelers still looks deserted now.

"Unlike last year, Tanah Bumbu-HSS alternative pathway was crowded by the activity of four-wheeled vehicles and two-wheeler, but this time it looks deserted," said one resident, Subrantas, on Tuesday.

He suspects, it is due to the road not in good condition. There are several points on the road have landslides. So the rider concerned slippage, and entry into ravine reach tens of meters.

An approximately 150 kilometers alternative road along the Meratus mountains, now only occasionally skipped passenger cars and two-wheeled vehicles.

Allegedly, they prefer to use the national road Batulicin-Banjarmasin, which across several districts, namely Banjarbaru, Tanah Bumbu and Tanah Laut, although it takes nearly tripled time or tens of hours longer.
