Barabai, S Kalimantan, July 15 (Antara) - The community in Hulu Sungai Tengah district, South Kalimantan, has expressed hope that the president elect in the July 9 election will meet the energy demand in the district.

Local community figure Habib Aboe Bakar Al Habsy noted here on Tuesday that the district in South Kalimantan has contributed significantly through tax revenues, but it frequently faces electricity and fuel oil shortage.

"We hope the next government will give more incentive to South Kalimantan, which is a mining producer and the supporter of the state budget income," Habib stated.

Further, he called on the local community to be thoughtful and calm in dealing with the process of the presidential electoral vote count.

He added that all parties should be more mature in dealing with the election results and be appreciative of the fact that the presidential election process ran peacefully.

"The conducive security situation has contributed to a peaceful election that has a fundamental impact on the stability of the nation`s economy," Habib remarked.

Therefore, he reiterated that the elected president is expected to meet the energy demand, particularly electricity and fuel oil in the province.
