Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander Marshall Hadi Tjahjanto asked religious and traditional leaders to be involved to educate the public on health protocol.

He was speaking after giving direction to the South Kalimantan Task Force for Prevention, Countermeasure, and Handling of COVID-19 in Banjarbaru, Thursday afternoon.

"Let's invite the whole people by involving religious and traditional leaders to succeed in the implementation of the health protocol," the TNI Commander told reporters.

The visit of the TNI Commander with the National Police's General Supervision Inspector (Irwasum Polri) Comr.Gen. Agung Budi Maryoto, who represented the National Police Chief Gen. Idham Azis, related to the high tally of COVID-19 cases in the province which has touched 5.332 with 263 death toll as of July 23, 2020.

According to Marshal Hadi, the local government assisted by TNI-Polri in South Kalimantan has done the right things in handling COVID-19.

3T effort, namely testing, tracing, treatment has been running optimally. Even health facilities have been provided, including Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) devices continue to increase.

"We hope with all these efforts, the COVID-19 pandemic can be suppressed under the condition we want, until people return to be productive as we all hope," he said.

The TNI Commander and Irwasum Polri also came to see-off the COVID-19 Social Care Service from the office of the South Kalimantan Regional Secretary in Banjarbaru.

The aid in the form of 750 food packages and 2.000 kilograms of rice was symbolically released to be brought by Babinsa (a village supervisory non-commissioned military officer), Bhabinkamtibmas (public order police), Tagana (emergency response unit) and volunteers from various organization.
