The district government of Barito Kuala (Batola) distributed the third phase of food aid for the poor and affected by COVID-19 in 17 sub-districts, Wednesday (June 24, 2020). 

Batola Regent Hj Noormiliyani AS symbolically handed over the food packages to Tabukan Sub-district Head Abdi Maulana, Anjir Muara Sub-district Head Jaya Hidayatullah, and Anjir Pasar Sub-district Head M Husaini in distribution at the front of Serbaguna Building in Marabahan, Wednesday (June 24.

But in the third stage of distribution, there was an increase of 222 households (KK) for the affected people to bring the total number to 20.222 packages. 

In addition, there was Rp100 thousand in cash assistance for 20.000 KK worth Rp2 billion from the South Kalimantan Provincial Government.

“Alhamdulillah today we will deliver Rp100 thousand of provincial government assistance in cash per KK for 20.000 households,” said Noormiliyani accompanied by Head of Social Office Fuad Syekh, Head of Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade Office Purkan, Head Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Sumarno, and Head of PR and Protocol Hery Sasmita.

The regent hopes, the aid distributed to ease the burden of the underprivileged and affected by COVID-19, such as stalls, small shops, motorcycle taxi drivers, pedicab drivers, kelotok motorboat drivers, and others who suffered a decline in income due to lack of buyers or passengers.

“Hopefully this assistance will be a blessing and useful for the recipient community,” she hoped.

She reminded all residents to always be disciplined in implementing the health protocol. “Let us together make this new life order as something we can naturally accept in normal life,” she said.
