Banjarmasin , South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - Head of the South Kalimantan Regional Environmental Agency (BLHD) Ihlas said BLHD will ask the Traffic Environmental Impact Analysis (Amdal Lalin of EIA Traffic) for the "Giant Extra" supermarket at Jalan A Yani Km6,5, Banjar District.
"I do not know, whether the existence of modern Giant Extra supermarket in Jalan A Yani which entered the district of Banjar has EIA Traffic," he said here on Wednesday.
"We would ask that the Banjar District," he replied Antaranews on the sidelines of hygiene ranks assessment of the provincial government offices.
According to the former head of the South Kalimantan Forest Agency, a modern shopping areas such as Giant Extra must have EIA Traffic document. "If you do not have EIA Traffic, thus violating laws and regulations. Accordance with the domicile, the authority issuing the EIA Traffic is Banjar District," he said.
The existence of shopping centers could cause traffic congestion or public roads disruption, let alone if they had closed the access road, he added .
He added, according to laws and regulations, the development of housing must also have EIA document first. "When you do not have EIA (Amdal), the government can not give permission to the developer, due EIA was necessary to maintain the ecological balance," he continued.
Meanwhile, the BLHD have not authority under the provisions of local autonomy, except merely in coordination and consultation, he added.
