Tanjung, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Tabalong Vice Regent Zony Alfianoor plans to change the Tanjung Puri tourism management system through local companies so it can be contributing to local revenue.

He admits there are still many local government owned assets has not been optimally utilized, one of which is Tanjung Puri natural attractions in the village of Kasiau, subdistrict Murung Pudak.

"In fact, the assets of the area if utilized and managed in a professional manner will boost local revenue, and not become budget burden without contributing," said Zony here on Sunday.

Tanjung Puri which is equipped with restaurant has so far managed by third party by direct appointment system and it give no contribution to local revenue.

"We need to re-optimize the facilities at the Tanjung Puri as an arboretum and camping , so they can attract the attention of visitors," he said.

Because not professionally managed , this places even less desirable, as evidenced by the small number of visitors. Especially the place is quite far from Tanjung, the capital.

Instead, Tabalong residents visit nature attraction in neighboring districts namely Central Hulu Sungai which has several options such as Pagat River.

Meanwhile, Tabalong district government target its revenue (PAD) in 2013 about Rp55 billion. And a pair of newly appointed regent and vice regent targets the revenues rose by 300 percent. "Then it needs efforts to optimize the potential those exist, including the tourism sector," he said.
