Banjarmasin , South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - The Government of Banjarmasin ensure immediately apply Regulation No. 7 of 2013 on the prohibition of smoking in public places, especially in the local city government offices.
" The ban on smoking in places that are determined according to local regulations starting on May 4, 2014," said Banjarmasin Mayor H Muhidin to reporters at City Hall on Thursday.
The ban will be carried out in government offices also throughout the school, including some public facilities and public transportation. "So if smoking is not in place , it will be reprimanded once by the Satpol-PP (public order personnel)," the Mayor said.
Previously the ban was socialized, and in the near future local health agency and all agencies will help install stickers that contain prohibitions and rules. Then, for smokers, in the near future set some special rooms, spread out at some point in the offices.
He hoped that with the implementation of the rules, the public areas and government offices will be clean and free from cigarette smoke, because smoking harmful to health.
In 2015, he said, a ban on smoking in public places will be firmly enforced. For those who are found to violate would be fined up to Rp100 thousand.
The city government office has now only two smokers rooms on the left and right or front reception area of mayor and deputy mayor's office on the second floor.
