The Tanah Laut Regent H Sukamta said as many as 41 thousand of families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the district will receive direct cash assistance (BLT) from the central government through the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).

The ministry, he said, has prepared the assistance, especially for Family Hope Program (PKH). 

The regent added that non-cash food aid increased from IDR15 million to IDR20 million per beneficiary family.

“Of course, we also have prepared IDR25 billion for BLT for three months," Sukamta said after attending a video conference on BLT Coordination Meeting for COVID-19 Handling with Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara, Thursday afternoon (April 16, 2020).

The BLT to be given, he said,  amounting to IDR600 thousand per family per month will be distributed for three months.

The regent hoped there will be no pileup of BLT recipients who have been registered in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) and distribution will be even to recipients.

Meanwhile, Minister Juliari P Batubara in his direction said there will be additional assistance to the affected people and is being prepared properly. 

He hoped people could be patient and strengthen their sense of discipline in facing COVID-19.
