Head of Banjarmasin Social Agency Iwan Ristianto stated that the city government will provide basic needs for residents categorized as Patients Under Surveillance (PDP) and Person Under Monitoring (ODP) while practicing self-quarantine.

"During 14 days they carry out an independent quarantine at home, we help with the need for staple, so they remain at home," he pointed out here on Friday (April 3, 2020).

According to him, the assistance is prepared for residents who have reported themselves and determined as ODP and PDP with mild symptoms to quarantine themselves at home, so as not to endanger others.

"That is if they are willing to be assisted. If not, it's okay. This is a form of responsibility of the city government to keep them disciplined in self-quarantine, not to go anywhere, let alone looking for food," said Iwan Ristianto.

Basic food provided will vary during the 14 days of quarantine. "It's not possible if every day we give them 1 kg of sugar or 5 liters, so it will adjust," he said.

According to Iwan Ristianto, at this time 250 houses are assisted because they have to quarantine themselves to ensure they were not exposed to the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

While funds used for the assistance come from the COVID-19 handling budget, which totaling Rp51 billion for all COVID-19 handling in Banjarmasin.
