South Kalimantan declared to be united in fighting against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) which was marked by spraying disinfectant fluid in all corners of the city.
"Let fight against this virus. South Kalimantan must be the winner and the Indonesian nation is a warrior nation always wins the battlefield against colonizers," Governor H Sahbirin Noor remarked here on Tuesday (March 31, 2020) as he released troops to conduct disinfection simultaneously from the Regional Police Headquarters (Mapolda).
The entire fleet of regional police was deployed, including water cannons and other tactical vehicles that could accommodate a large amount of liquid.
At the same time, the 101/Antasari Provincial Military (Korem), Banjarmasin Naval Base, and the Sjamsudin Noor Air Base also mobilized their troops along with the local government and volunteers from firefighters.
The governor said spraying disinfectants was a preventive measure to kill viruses or germs that stick to nearby objects around the people. Anyone could touch them and eventually exposed to COVID-19.
He insisted the public comply with the government call to stay at home, reducing outside activities, and keep the physical distance. Then diligently wash hands with running waters and use soap or antiseptic liquid.

South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Insp.Gen. Yazid Fanani affirmed the National Police Chief Edict No. Mak/2/III/2020 as a legal basis for his ranks to crack down on every crowd.
"All ranks are increasing patrol to dispel crowd or gathering of people. People must obey the government's call to stay at home. There are legal consequences the police will take if anyone does not comply with this appeal," he said.
Previously the Provincial Government spokesman for COVID-19 Handling Acceleration HM Muslim said in a press statement that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in South Kalimantan rose by four to become five on Monday (March 30, 2020), While Patient Under Surveillance (PDP) 7, and Persons Under Monitoring (ODP) as many as 1,162.
