The government-owned Ulin General Hospital (RSUD) in Banjarmasin has prepared a complete building with isolation room for handling patients infected with COVID -19 or coronavirus with complete medical facilities and team.
Director of Ulin General Hospital Suciati, accompanied by Deputy Director dr Muhammad Isa SpP here on Tuesday (March 3, 2020) said, there is currently a building that is used as isolation room to handle various infectious diseases.
"The building is indeed for handling various types of diseases, but with different rooms. Specifically for isolation room handling corona, it is more specific that other rooms," she said.
For example, she added, the doors are layered, so unauthorized people do not easily enter.
Likewise, a special air conditioner designed for the room, which had previously been intended to handle the suspected cases of bird flu or swine flu. "Previously the room was used to handle suspected cases of bird flu, swine flu, and others, but all the results were negative," she said.
In addition to adequate facilities and rooms, her side has also prepared a fairly comprehensive medical team, ranging from pulmonologist or lung specialist, internist, cardiologist, and other related medical teams.
"Especially for lung specialists, we have five in the Ulin General Hospital," she said.
According to Suci, Ulin is one of 135 hospitals referred by President Joko Widodo as a referral hospital for the treatment of corona sufferers.
It was designated as a referral hospital because it is geographically easy to rach, complete and adequate equipment, as well as a medical team and human resources that are considered to be sufficiently capable.
