Kotabaru Expect Tourist from Bali and Tanah Toraja

Kotabaru, South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - Kotabaru District expects domestic and foreign tourists from Bali and Tanah Toraja to visit the region.

"To meet that expectation, we plan to cooperte with a number of airlines to open new flight routes, namely Kotabaru-Bali, Kotabaru-Sulawesi, and Kotabaru-Jakarta," said Regent Kotabaru H Irhami Ridjani here on Friday.

Meanwhile, the local government immediately increases the length of the runway that is more than 2,000 meters, so that a large aircraft can land at the Gusti Syamsir Alam airport in Stagen, Kotabaru.

Irhami said the Kalstar airline plans to open Kotabaru-Surabaya and Kotabaru-Jakarta flights. "Plans to open 

Kotabaru-Surabaya flights is long enough , hopefully soon be realized," said the regent.

Apron is a matter at issue , it was decided the plane will be parked at the old Juanda Airport. Surabaya flight will be 

at night, but the Regent want it in afternoon.

Besides Kotabaru-Surabaya, Regency Kotabaru also asked the airline to open Kotabaru-Jakarta flight and flights to several other regions in Indonesia. Kalstar will operate the ATR 72 aircraft type 600 with a seating capacity of about 72 seats.

At the airport Stagen Kotabaru , now also operates a number of aircraft that conduct regular commercial flights , such as, Water Wings , Kalstar , and a number of rental aircrafts. The planes fly for Kotabaru-Balikpapan (PP), Kotabaru-Makassar (PP) Kotabaru-Banjarmasin (PP).

A smooth air transportation to several major cities in Indonesia, regent hopes to be an excellent promotion as well 

as to encourage economic growth in the region.
