Kotabaru, South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - Construction of  eight-points of road lighting (PJU) with solar cell system in the village of Sejakah will provide enough lighting from 18:00 until 06:00, so it is expected to be more secure and comfortable for the public.

Head of Cipta Karya, Human Settlements and Housing H Akhmad Rivai said, Kotabaru already has been using PJU with solar power in several years.

LED-based solar lamps do not require electrical wiring, such as lights from PT PLN . This is one option that should
be done to reduce electricity bills, he said.

Kotabaru district government, said the former head of Mines and Energy Agency, supports propgram in reducing the impact of greenhouse gas that is currently promoted by the government.

Rivai expects, PJU tax which is one source of local revenue for local governments are not spent to pay the electricity bill alone, but also for the benefit of rural PJU expansion. If done in saving electricity, so PJU bills will also decline.

Previously, Head of Kotabaru Transportation Agency, Sugian Noor, said the agency programmed to install lights signs at every intersection and turn by using energy Solar Power Plant (PLTS). "The goal is to save energy," he said.

Transportation Agency targets to reduce the number of traffic accidents occur on the highway, especially in the area of intersection. This can be done by installing lights traffic signs at every intersection and turn, so motorists or road users can be more comfortable and safer.

With so many intersections and corners, it is possible to take a lot of lights and electrical energy to be used. So that it is not overly burdensome government in paying the electricity bill.
