Deputy Speaker of Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) Muhammad Arif handed over 30 sets of chairs and tables to state elementary school SDN Hilir Muara 1 in Pulau Laut Utara Sub-district.

The symbolic hand over of the aid by the PPP politician to the headmaster of the school H Aspuannur was witnessed by a number of teachers and all students in the school, Sunday (Jan 19, 2020).

"We feel called upon the condition of SDN 1 Hilir Muara, as some students learn by sitting on the floor (lesehan), because there are no chairs and tables," Arif remarked.

The council was concerned to know the school has not a complete facility for learning, whereas it lies in between the capital of the district.

Some of its members then reviewed the location and coordinated with related agencies, until the council agreed to allocate assistance in the 2021 budget, because the 2020 budget has been set.

"We cannot wait for disbursement of the 2021 budget, while the condition of learning process here is pressing. So we personally spend what we can to help," Arif remarked.

The assistance, although not completely overcame the school problems, but helped the students to study normally.
