Head of Kintap Office of Port Implementation Unit (UPP) in Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, Hadji Jafar assured that the Swarangan Seaport is ready to provide service by the mid-2020, but only to serve cargo ships.


He remarked here on Tuesday (Jan 7, 2020) that the progress of the construction of the seaport is it has been completed 100 percent and the operation will be carried out immediately.

"To support its operational, the government of Tanah Laut prioritise the construction of a connecting road to the seaport with a width of 25 meter along 1.7 kilometers," he pointed out in Pelaihari.

“The UPP Kintap still in coordination with the district government related to the inauguration,” he explained.

If it has been inaugurated, according to him, the Swarangan Seaport will temporarily serve only the general cargo ship. While to serve passenger ship, it still requires the readiness of various facilities for passengers.

Meanwhile, Head of Tanah Laut Transportation Agency Gentri Yuliantono admitted, the construction of the 1,7 kilometer connecting road to the seaport is the priority carried out by the local Public works and Housing (PUPR) Agency.

“Right now the road to the seaport has begun to be paved from trans 300,” he said.
