Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - Regional Water Company (PDAM ) Bandarmasih Banjarmasin need about Rp600 billion investment fund to maintain the availability of raw water for next 10 years.

"The investment is to overcome the shortage of raw water that extract raw water not only from Martapura River but up to the Riam Kanan Dam, Banjar District," said President Director of PDAM Bandarmasih Ir Muslih here on Thursday .

To realize the plan, it need support by all parties, especially the central government, provincial government, city government and the community.

PDAM Bandarmasih through strategic plan 2014 - 2023 focused on procurement of raw water. One that does is making ponds in the area of Tabuk River that can accommodate large amounts of water during the rainy season and then be used in times of drought.

Banjarmasin Mayor Haji Muhidin previously said, raw water issue is of particular concern. Even the Government has consulted with the relevant Director General of Irrigation to Riam Kanan Dam water using for district/cities incorporated in Banjarbakula program.

According to the Mayor, City Government was advised to apply utilization of water reservoirs to the governor of South Kalimantan.

City Government hopes , before the governor leaves office he can help realize the strategic plan and availability
of raw water to be the source of water for the taps also for the citizens of the city of Banjarmasin.
