The University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) has prepared free Indonesian language learning course for foreign students studying at the ULM.
"Insya Allah (God Willing) in the academic year 2020-2021, there are quite a lot of applicants from foreign students who want to study at ULM. We have prepared a course program so they can speak Indonesian quickly," ULM Deputy Rector IV for Planning, Cooperation, and Public Relation Prof Dr Ir H Yudi Firmanul Arifin remarked here on Saturday (Dec 21, 2019).
Yudi expressed his delighted to know that every year the presence of foreign student kept increasing, beside students from various part of the country, including special scholarship for students from Papua.
Recently, he received a young man who claimed to have graduated from school in Saudi Arabia intending to continue his study at the ULM.
"His name is Abdulrahman Faisal from Yemen, but he has studied in Saudi Arabia. He wants to study at the Faculty of Medicine. Now we are still working on the mechanism whether it can be on the SNMPTN, SBMPTN or independent (all the name of types of admission)," he pointed out.
It is different from other foreign students, such as from Philippines and Thailand, the two countries have already MoU with ULM, so the mechanism goues through special channels.

Not only from ASEAN or Asia regions, ULM, who has been accredited A by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), also targets students from Europe.
It seriousness was demonstrated by attending a world-class higher education exhibition titled ""Go-Abroad Fair 2019" organized by Organisatie Groep Zuid (OGZ) in two countries, the Netherlands and Belgium on November 24, 2019.
