Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) opens as wide opportunities as possible for Thais to study in Indonesia.
ULM, through the international exhibition of universities in the State of White Elephant, ensured there will be "quata" for foreign students to be admitted every year.
"Of course we hope in the coming academic year we will have students from Thailand to admit," ULM Head of Cooperation and Public Relations Siti Aisyah said in a press release from Hat Yai, Thailand, Tuesday.
ULM in this activity was indeed targeting an increase in the number of international students. In 2018, ULM accepted students from the Philippines while attending the 2018 Indonesia University Fair in Manila.
Becoming a university with international standards is a step for ULM, after this year it received an A accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
"Especially now that ULM has the Siperkasa app (Siperkasa is an abbreviation of Sistem Informasi Permohonan Kerja Sama or the Cooperation Request Information System), so cooperation can be done online anytime and with anyone from all partners in the world," she said.
The international exhibition titled "23rd PSU Higher Education Fair" is hosted by Prince of Songkla University (PSU) and the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) of Thailand at the PSU International Convention Center, Hat Yai, Thailand.
ULM, here provides information related to faculties and study programs, scholarships, current Accreditation A, lecturer and student exchanges as well as information about ULM's superiority in the wetland field.
On the first day of the exhibition, Indonesian Chief Representative Songkhla Fachry Sulaiman and PSU Associate Professor Chusak Limsakul, D.Eng came to the ULM booth and expressed their appreciation for ULM.
Fachry stated, there was an increase in the number of Southern Thai students who wanted to go to school in Indonesia every year based on the application for a study visa.
"We estimate that the visitors who came for two days reached 15,000 high school students from around 200 schools in Thailand," Fachry explained.
