A hajj prospective from the Embarkation of Banjarmasin, Nasram Saleh Saat bin Saleh (62), Sunday (5/8) at 16.07 local time died after undergoing treatment at An Noer Hospital in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
"From the report of our health worker there, he died due to respiratory diseases and has been treated for several days," said Head of the South Kalimantan Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs H Noor Fahmi in Banjarmasin on Tuesday.
Nasram, from Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan, who joined flight group 5, he said, was buried in the cemetery of Sharaya Mecca.
Nasram before being dispatched to Saudi Arabia had several times received special handling by embarkation health workers and has to be referred to Martapura Hospital because of shortness of breath.
"Even when in Saudi Arabia he had twice entered KKHI and was referred to the An Noer Hospital in Mecca until he died," he explained.
From the report of Dr. Nurlina, health officer of flight group 5, Nasram suffered from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), which is a disease of lung inflammation that develops in the long term.
This disease, he continued, blocking the flow of air from the lungs due to obstruction of swelling and phlegm, so that sufferers have difficulty breathing.
"He was dependent on oxygen, but at the final seconds oxygen saturation cannot rise below normal around 70," he said.
According to Noor Fahmi, this sad news had been conveyed to the family, immediately after the PPIH Embarkasi Banjarmasin made further coordination with several flight group officers and received certainty of death with evidence of COD.
According to him, all elements of the PPIH Embarkation Banjarmasin and on behalf of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in the Province of South Kalimantan expressed their condolences and deeply mourned the death of Nasram Saleh Saat.
"Hopefully he is forgiven for all sins, given spaciousness in his grave and may he be recorded as a pilgrimage martyr amen," said Noor Fahmi.
So far, he said, the Banjarmasin embarkation has dispatched all 19 flight groups of hajj candidates from July 8 to August 5, 2019 with a total of 6,112 people. They were 4,172 people from South Kalimantan and 1,940 people from Central Kalimantan.
