The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has recorded the inflation rate of South Kalimantan, the composite of Banjarmasin City and Tanjung City, in June was 0.27 percent.


South Kalimantan's Head of the BPS Diah Utami here on Monday announced, inflation in Banjarmasin at 0.29 percent, but in Tanjung occurred deflation 0.10 percent.

"The cumulative inflation rate in Banjarmasin City in June 2019 against December 2018 is 3.20 percent, while the cumulative inflation rate in Tanjung is 1.52 percent," she said.

The biggest contributors to the inflation in Banjarmasin came from rice, gold jewelry, grilled fish, long-jawed mackerel and clove cigarettes.

Meanwhile, commodities which experienced price declines with the highest share of deflation included air transportation, cork fish, broiler eggs, catfish and sea transportation.

Meanwhile, in Tanjung City, commodities which experienced price declines with the highest share of deflation in June included chicken, oranges, spinach, garlic and watermelon.

BPS also noted that 76 out of 82 cities experienced inflation, six cities deflated. Manado City has highest inflation at 3.60 percent and the lowest was Singaraja City 0.02 percent.
