At present the classrooms for learning theory are still combined with practice, even though they should be separated,
Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Vocational Training Center (BLK) still needs additional space for training and storage of equipment to produce skilled and ready-to-use workforce.

The Acting Head of Kotabaru BLK Siswanto here on Friday said that the additional room is currently needed to see the high interest of the training participants.

"At present the classrooms for learning theory are still combined with practice, even though they should be separated," he said.

He admitted that he was confused about storing equipment after there was assistance from the central government.

According to Siswanto, about 90 percent of the equipment owned by BLK Kotabaru has now been rejuvenated. But some old equipment is still used, but there is no storage space.

Some old equipment in the automotive workshop room had to be removed and placed on the terrace. There are also several other equipment stored in official residence.

"So we hope the local government will look more at the situation of the BLK," he said.

Responding to this, the Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Office Sugian Noor said his office had proposed to the government regarding the fulfillment of various infrastructure facilities at the BLK.

"We have proposed to the regent to fulfill those shortcomings, as well as the addition of instructors. Hopefully starting next year can be addressed gradually, "said Sugian.

"The point is the regent was very concerned about advancing the education of job seeker skills. They must be equipped with competencies according to their current needs," he said.
