Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - As many as 149 athletes from Central Hulu Sungai (HST) were ready to compete in the provincial Student Sports Week (Popda) event which takes place in Banjarbaru and Banjarmasin from April 1 to 5, 2019.
"We have 99 athletes, with 27 coaches and 13 officials," said Head of Youth, Sport, and Tourism Agency (Disporapar) Wahyudi Rahmad during the departure of the contingent in the Regent's office yard on Monday (1/4).
The HST contingent competes in all 10 sports, namely athletics, wrestling, judo, karate, swimming, taekwondo, boxing, rowing, archery and vollly sand.
This year, HST targets a minimum of ranked seven. "The previous year, HST was ranked ninth," he said.
Regent HA Chairansyah congratulated all members of the Popda HST contingent and hoped they would fight to bring the good name of the region at the level of the South Kalimantan Province. M Taupik Rahman
