Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Members of the South Kalimantan Legislative Council (DPRD) for the 2014-2019 period will conduct comparative studies abroad before ending their term of office.
Head of the DPRD Secretariat and Minutes (Setwan) Muhammad Jaini MAP here Thursday said the comparative study abroad is estimated to cost IDR3.5 billion with a calculation of IDR 65 million per person.
"The number of members of the South Kalimantan DPRD for the period of 2014-2019 is 55. If all go for comparative studies means the total costs is about IDR3.5 billion. That has been allocated in the 2019 Regional Budget (APBD)," he said.
Meanwhile, the speaker of DPRD H Burhanuddin S.Sos, MPd, when confirmed on Thursday acknowledged the planned. "It's not wrong or maybe it's good if we study in countries that allow us to model for the advancement of our region," the Golkar Party's senior politician said.
However, the former two-period chairperson of the DPRD Tanah Bumbu was unable to ascertain the departure time and destination countries of the comparative studies abroad.
Separately, Deputy Chairperson of Commission I in the field of Law and Government H Suripno Sumas, SH, MH, said comparative studies abroad are legitimate and do not conflict with laws and regulations.
"We may miss the experience of other countries. While some other provincial DPRDs in Indonesia have studied comparability abroad," said retired civil servants who joined the National Awakening Party (PKB).
