Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Banjarmasin City Education Agency issued a circular to schools to be aware of child abductions.


Head of Education Agency Totok Agus Daryanto through the Head of Elementary School Guiding Nuryadi here on Thursday said the letter had been made and distributed since January 28, 2019.

"This letter was circulated for all schools from PAUD (early childhood education) to SMP (junior high) levels," he said.

All schools are asked to supervise their students in order to avoid crime, especially the kidnapping of children which are currently spreading issue.

"In fact, it was viral the kidnapping of a child at Kidaung Elementary School, Jalan S Parman, Central Banjarmasin, even though the truth is still in question," said Nuryadi.

However, there were more real cases in some regions, most recently in Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, about a child who was kidnapped and dumped in the forest, and the case was being handled by the local police.

"In order not to repeat in our area, prevention is necessary. In essence, this letter warns the school not to be careless about watching their students," said Nuryadi.

The point that must be done by the school is to increase awareness by increasing supervision, protection and security in the school environment, especially against foreigners with suspicious gestures.

Then provide socialization and direction for students to be careful to interact with unknown people.
