Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan - Two brothers, residents of Guntung Payung, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, were killed by lightning, Monday afternoon.
     

Guntung Payung Urban Village Head Ma'ruf Rizani in Banjarbaru City said on Monday the two brothers had died at the scene on Jalan Bina Putra field, Guntung Manggis.
     
"The incident was around 3:30 p.m. and two victims died at the scene due to lightning were brothers, Febrian (13) and Revaldi (9)," he said.
     
He said, the information received, two children with a friend named Rizal were in a field when cloudy weather enveloped the city.
     
Somehow it happened, suddenly lightning struck and allegedly hit the bodies of two children who were still elementary school students.
     
Allegedly, lightning grabs a cellphone that was held by one of the victims and the position of both of them are close together  to make both of them hit by.
     
"The two victims died at the scene, while the friend of the victim, Rizal, had collapsed and was rushed to the hospital," said West Banjarbaru Police Chief Commissioner Saiful Bob.
     
Meanwhile, Rizal who received treatment at the emergency room at Idaman Banjarbaru Hospital began to regain consciousness and seemed to be a little calm accompanied by his mother.
     
"I don't remember how it happened because of fainting. But before the lightning struck, we played bicycles and Febri also Aldi played cellphones," he said.
