The monitoring locations are in the Tabalong River, Mangkusip River, Jaing River, Tabalong Kanan River, Hanyar River, Jangkung River, and Tabalong Kiwa River.

Pollution in the Tabalong River is caused by the Escherichia coli bacteria or e-coli that cause diarrhea. That happened because there were still residents throwing feces (defecate) directly into the river without using a toilet.
According to the environmental security analysis of South Kalimantan Health Agency Muhammad Solihin, currently, three rivers are classified as heavily polluted due to the high content of e-coli bacteria. "The Nagara River, Barito River, and Martapura River are classified as high in e-coli bacteria," he explained.
A similar thing was also conveyed by functional officials controlling the secondary environmental impact of the South Kalimantan LH Office. "Almost all the rivers in South Kalimantan are contaminated with e-coli bacteria because the habit of defecation in the river cannot be removed," explained Asbiani.
The socialization was opened by the Expert Staff for Economic and Development of Tabalong Aberani Aberar, attended by representatives of the company, the apparatus of sub-district and village which are the location for monitoring river water quality.
