Batulicin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Government of Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan, declared prices of basic commodities are stable in several markets in the area ahead of holidays season.
Head of Trade and Industry Agency H. Deny Hariyanto through the Head of the Trade Supervision Section Nur Rochmah in Batulicin said Monday almost all prices of basic necessities in all markets in Tanah Bumbu remain stable.
"I appeal to the entire community not to worry because food supplies in all agents remain safe and the price is still stable," he said.
He explained, the stable price of basic necessities was supported by the smooth distribution of goods from Java and Sulawesi, so traders in the market do not have the opportunity to hoard resulting in rare and expensive goods.
For example, the price of sugar is IDR 11,500/kg, shallots IDR 24,000/kg, garlic IDR 22,000/kg, cooking oil IDR 11,500/liter, branded cooking oil IDR 15,000/liter, and rice IDR 10,000/kg.
While the price of vegetables such as potatoes is IDR 16,000/kg, carrots IDR 16,000/kg, cabbage IDR 10,000/kg, and chili IDR 30,000/kg. The price of these commodities still relatively stable or not experiencing an increase.
But on religious holidays the price of chicken eggs increases from Rp1,500 to Rp1,900 for each.
The price increase was due to the high demand from the community, so the egg agent generally ran out of stock, but now the price of eggs is normal again reaching Rp40,000/shelf containing 30 pieces.
"The local government will continue to monitor the stability of prices of basic necessities in all markets in Tanah Bumbu to support people's welfare," he explained.
