Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - AMINEF (American Indonesian Exchange Foundation) offers a Fulbright scholarship at the Banjarmasin College of Teacher Training and Education (STKIP-PGRI).
"To reach more prospective scholarship applicants, AMINEF conducts socialization to various universities in Indonesia. STKIP PGRI Banjarmasin is the last stop of the series of socialization in South Kalimantan," said AMINEF Program Officer Ceacelia Dewitha.
She gave presentations on mentoring programs by native speakers from the United States to universities and high schools (SMA/MA) in Indonesia.
Whereas Nurise Widjaya and Sandra Melina from AMINEF's Program Officer and Associate Program Officer explained about a study for bachelor or undergraduate (S1), master (S2) and doctor (S3) degree scholarship programs offered by Fulbright.
Nurise said, AMINEF and Fulbright had sent at least 3,000 Indonesian best students to reach the dream of attending prestigious universities in the United States.
Through AMINEF, she said, Fulbright offered many scholarship programs to continue their education at S1, S2 and S3 levels for Indonesian citizens and assistance programs for schools and educational institutions in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, 100 participants attending the socialization were those who were still registered as undergraduate students but were interested in pursuing college scholarships in the United States.
Three alumni of the Fulbright program or commonly called Fulbrighter also provided an overview of the selection process and their lives while studying in the United States.
Chairperson of Banjarmasin STKIP-PGRI Dr. H Abidinsyah thanked AMINEF for their presence. AMINEF gave souvenirs to STKIP PGRI in the form of three books on TOEFL IBT and GRE preparation.
