Banjarmasin (Antaranews Kalsel) - Banjarmasin city received an award for its success in managing the environment.

The 2nd Smart Sanitation Award for the Top 10 City of Sanitation Care category was received by Mayor H Ibnu Sina from the Director General of Cipta Karya Ministry of PUPR Danis H Sumadilaga during the 18th Cities Sanitation Summit of City and District Alliance Care of Sanitation (AKKOPSI) at the BW Luxury Hotel, Jambi, Thursday (10/25).

H Ibnu Sina thanked all the Banjarmasin Government officials who had worked hard until the city managed to get the award.

"Thank you for your support and hard work all levels of the Government of Banjarmasin, agencies (SKPD), subdistrict heads (camat), urban villages heads (lurah), neighborhood units (RT), community unit (RW), and all citizens of the city," said the man who served as Third Chairman at AKKOPSI.

Not only did he get an award, at that time the city with the Kayuh Baimbai logo was also crowned to host AKKOPSI to XIX activities in 2019.

Chairman of AKKOPSI Mohammad Ramdhan Pomanto said, all AKKOPSI members must unite to fight for their city, even though in Law No. 23 the authority of coastal and river management is the central government.

AKKOPSI, he continued, will not remain silent about it. The city network organization will propose to the central government to delegate this authority.

"This is very important because it involves many things, drainage is not just a condition but there is something more dangerous than that, because drainage into plastic transport from the river is then carried to the sea, then contaminates or closes our coral reefs. Such conditions make AKKOPSI more strategic and make us have to unite in this City Sanitation Summit," he saidat the opening of AKKOPSI's Cities Sanitation Summit.
