Kandangan sub-district head Ronaldy P Putra here on Monday (15/10) said that the collapsed house occupied by Edy with his family. It happened at 02.00 predawns. In addition to destroying homes and stalls, one of Edi's children, Muhammad Maulana (12), died.
"The victim was rushed to the hospital but at around 05.00 he was declared dead, and now has been taken to a family home in Kandangan Kota," he said when contacted by telephone.
He recounted when the incident wind was not too strong and the victim's family's house was damaged on the right side and hit the room occupied by the victim with his two brothers.
But he still does not know whether the coconut tree collapsed due to heavy winds or other factors.
The victim died is a sixth-grade student of an elementary school in Kandangan. At the house, the victim lived with two brothers and two parents.
