Accompanied by Nobutoshi Miyoshi (Policy Advisor from IGES Japan), the arrival of the Mayor of Banjarmasin was welcomed by Comoros Mayor Toshihiro Koizumi.
Toshihiro presented how he and his apparatus managed the city with the concept of a sustainable environment so that Comoros could be preserved by its natural preservation.

One of the concepts of the Comoros Mayor is to make a renewable energy program from pine wood biomass and solar cell. Both produce electrical energy which is then used for various activities, including as a power supply for schools and public service facilities.
Comoros city not only has very beautiful mountains. There is also a very clean mountain river, Chikumagama River. Comoros city also has the largest and most active volcano in Japan, Mount Asamayama, with a height of 2,568 meters above sea level.
Here Ibn Sina presented the success of Banjarmasin in implementing a ban on the use of plastic bags for retail businesses and modern stores as well as waste bank programs.
This is part of the IGES Program to choose a world pilot city and is an Asean ESC Model Cities continuation that Banjarmasin has followed a while ago.
