"The mixing of LPG canister from subsidized 3 kg to non-subsidized 12 kg is often done by unscrupulous sellers who are not responsible for making multiple profits," South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Yazid Fanani said at an expose in the South Kalimantan Provincial Government Office yard in Banjarbaru, Thursday.
Members of Trade and Investment Industry Sub-Directorate (Indagsi) of Ditreskrimsus led by their chief Adj Sr. Comr (AKBP) H Suyitno Ardhi found the location of LPG canister mixing in East Berangas Village, Alalak, Barito Kuala District.
The police chief explained that the disclosure of the LPG canister mixing began with public complaints about the scarcity of 3 kg gas.
In addition to being difficult to obtain, the public also complained the weight of LPG canister did not match the correct dose. Police immediately conducted an investigation to find the location of the fraudulent practice.

The evidence found at the scene included 18 empty of 3 kg LPG canisters, 23 canisters of 3 kg, 12 canisters of 12 kg, 6 empty canisters of 12 kg, 1 canister containing half the size of 12 kg, 2 refiners, 2 rubber hook, 1 regulator, 37 rubber gas valves, 40 seal of PT Sumber Kuin Alalak Raya, and 6 gas seals PT Goutama Sinar Batuah.
Until now the case continues to be developed. The perpetrator was charged under Article 62 paragraph (1) Jo Article 8 paragraph (1) letter (a) of the Law Number 8/1999 concerning Consumer Protection and Article 30 Jo Article 32 paragraph (2) Law No.2/1981 concerning Legal Metrology with a sentence of 5 years and a fine of Rp2 billion.
On that occasion, Police Chief Inspector General Yazid Fanani accompanied by South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor and Banjar Regent KH Khalilurrahman and Special Criminal Investigation Director Sr. Comr Rizal Irawan also showed the catch of abuse of the transportation and trade of subsidized fuel.
From the catch on Wednesday (12/9) on Sungai Tandipa Street, Sungai Tabuk Sub-district, Banjar, was confiscated by a truck loaded with approximately 5,000 liters of diesel.

The suspect was charged under Article 55 of Law No. 22/2001 concerning Oil and Gas with a maximum imprisonment of 6 years and a maximum fine of Rp60 billion.
