Batulicin, S Kalimantan (Antaranuws Kalsel) - The Government of Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan, will immediately meets the shortage of medical personnel, especially doctors to be placed in community health centers (puskesmas).


Head of the Tanah Bumbu Health Agency H Damrah in Batulicin on Wednesday said every year the local government continues to recruit general practitioners to be contracted and stationed at all puskesmas.

"The recruitment of doctors is conducted every year in accordance with the Tanah Bumbu local budget, with each doctor's salary of about Rp6 million per month," he said.

Currently the Health Agency has about 45 general practitioners who have been scattered throughout the puskesmas. However, the amount is not proportional to the ratio of the number of people who reach 300 thousand inhabitants, which should be served by 120 doctors.

To meet the needs of doctors in every puskesmas, local government through the agency continue to recruit doctors to be contracted and employed according to their profession.

The appointment of a contracted physician is very different from the appointment of nurse, midwives, pharmacists, analysts, and general workers, who must serve for several years without receiving a salary or as volunteers. While doctors are not volunteers.

In addition to recruiting doctors through local contract, the health agency proposes recruitment of doctors to the Ministry of Health and to the central government to fill the shortage of doctors by recruiting candidates for civil servants through the National Civil Service Agency (BKN).
