Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Rector Prof. Dr. H. Sutarto Hadi succeeded in collecting the most votes in the Senate voting. One more step he will continue the leadership for the second period of four years.
"Thank God I have the support of the majority of Senate members by winning more than 50 percent of the vote," Sutarto spoke to reporters on Wednesday.
In a closed voting of 58 ULM Senate members, Sutarto won 31 votes, followed by Prof. Dr. Zairin Noor 17 votes, Prof. Dr. HM Hadin Muhjad 9 votes, and Prof Dr Husaini 1 votes.
Sutarto hoped that the results of the voting could be considered by the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education to select a candidate who really supported by the University Senate.
Previously in the delivery of mission vision and work program of rector candidates for the period of 2018-2022 in Rectorate Hall, Sutarto got a lot of appreciation from the academic community when he delivered his success for four years leading the oldest university in Kalimantan.
Among which increasing the number of lecturers with doctorate (S3) degree to 300, then 39 professors, and the start of construction of 12 new buildings to enlarge the A Study Program Accredited.
"I hope this success can continue to bring the ULM into a leading and competitive university in national level to Southeast Asia. If now it is in the best 51 position of 4,200 universities in Indonesia, then my target of the next four years is ranked 35th," Sutarto stated.
