Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor asked the Agriculture Agency to be more creative in developing the food crop sector and agricultural production.


According to Governor, the agriculture and food crops become one of the development focuses to boost regional economic growth in the long term to replace the mining sector.

All related parties from now on, he asked, must dare to work hard, more creative and innovative, so that South Kalimantan become a food granary not only for national but also Asia.

"I hope related institutions, such as Agriculture Agency, Plantation and Food Security are more creative to help innovate the development of agricultural production," he said in Banjarmasin on Saturday.

All related agencies, he said, should be able to help the farmers with real work for improving the welfare of farmers communities, as well as improve local food security.

Previously, the Governor attended the rice harvest in Timbaan Village, South Tapin Sub-district.

The Governor expressed his gratitude and high appreciation to the Tapin District Government, the local Agriculture Agency, the farmers and all the parties blessed for their hard work and for the realization of an abundant harvest.

"Thanks to the hard work of farmers, rice production in our area has reached 2.4 million tons, thanks to the hard work of farmers, including the farmers here," he said.
