For the time being the number of traditional markets managed by the city government is around 62, but this needs to be evaluated again,
Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - The Banjarmasin Industry and Trade Agency (Disperindag) will inevitably have to improve the data on the number of traditional markets, as data between the field and the application seem to be confused.
"For the time being the number of traditional markets managed by the city government is around 62, but this needs to be evaluated again," said Head of Improvement Means of Distribution and Market of the agency Ichrom M Tezar in Banjarmasin, Friday.
The problem, he pointed out, there is a single market area that turned out with many names. For example Pasar Baru Permai, it turns out there is a ground floor market, there is a market floor one, market second floor, also the sloping market.
"Well, it needs to be evaluated, whether the need to streamline the names or simply a single market name," he explained.
According to him, this also happens to other markets, such as LamaMarket, between the front and the back, has another name as well, whereas both are one location only.
According to Tezar, clarifying the number of traditional markets in this area is very important, until the program of maintenance and revitalization can be done well.
"Also we will do the monitoring of market conditions, both sanitation and the infrastructure, of course, we require valid data," he explained.
Tezar said, from the agency monitoring of the current traditional market conditions, most have been very good, for example, Tungging Market now looks good and clean, even can be said as a semi-modern market.
"The city government will continue to revamp this traditional market every year, because as a supporter of the regional economy, it large enough to provide revenue for the city government," he said.
