Rantau, S Kalimantan (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - Students at a junior high school for disabled SMPLB Ramajaya in Binuang sub-district, Tapin, were taught the skills of writing technique batik.
When Antaranews journalists visited the school the students seen serious following the lesson of batik skills.
Head of SMPLB Ramajaya Solikin said the students are more in teaching skills, such as batik, IT, tataboga (food and beverage), play music, and beauty.
"In this school nearly 70 percent of the lessons are skilled, and specifically for batik, it has lasted about two months," he said.
They are taught about skills with the purpose of providing them for entrepreneurship after graduating school.
"We hope with the skills we teach can make them entrepreneur later after graduating school," said the principal.
In batik lesson, the students of SMPLB Ramajaya taught the making of patterns, make their own batik, till the lesson of coloring.
Saufi, one of the students of SMPLB Ramajaya, admitted very happy to learn to make batik in his place to gain knowledge.
"Not too difficult to make batik, just need patience and thoroughness," he said.
