Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The city of Banjarbaru made the record for making the longest Kabuli rice for 150 meters. This record was produced from 1,400 portions of Kabuli rice to be enjoyed by the community.

Mayor Nadjmi Adhani said the longest making of Kabuli rice is in order to enliven the 2017 Banjarbaru Food and Culinary Festival.

"We want this first-ever event to be more widely known, so it will be spread through the making of the longest Kabuli rice in Indonesia," said the mayor here on Sunday.

The 2017 Banjarbaru Food and Culinary Festival was held in front of Banjarbaru City Hall starting from December 1 and its peak on Sunday (3/12).

Selection of Kabuli rice as the main object at the festival was aimed to introduce Kabuli rice as the hallmark of Banjarbaru community.

"We want the outside community to know Banjarbaru through its food, which is kabuli rice, so if anyone is looking for kabuli rice, they will go to Banjarbaru," he said.

According to him, the delicious kabuli rice can be found in Cempaka Subdistrict about 15 kilometers from the center of the city whose nickname Beautiful, Peace, Safe and Comfort (Idaman).

"We will introduce kabuli rice to every activity, especially those that invite outside guests, both central officials and other guests," he said.

Kabuli rice wrapped in banana leaves and placed elongated on the table. Community as well as participants who follow the festival rush to enjoy it.
