Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan - The Government of South Kalimantan set 2020 as the year of visiting South Kalimantan after its entire region ready to fix all the potential tourist attractions.


Head of the South Kalimantan Development Planning Board (Bappeda) Nurul Fajar Desira here on Friday said it immediately coordinate with all districts and cities to encourage the re-emergence of local tourism mainstay.

"We want all the tourist mainstays to be addressed and re-emerged," he said.

Several local tourist attractions were previously very famous, one of which is buffalo swamp in North Hulu Sungai (HSU).

The event was previously quite famous both at the local and national level, but unfortunately along with the development of the event that is quite unique is actually disappeared.

According to Fajar, some other potential tourism that expected to be addressed are Lokbaintan floating market, Loksado with the potential of beautiful nature, diamond mining, and Martapura jewelry market.

In addition, Banjarmasin river has now become the center of regional and national events.

Also Riam Kanan and Mandiangin, a new area for local, national and international tourist destinations.

If all the tourism potential has been addressed by all related parties, then South Kalimantan in 2020 ready to become a tourist visiting area.

Earlier, Head of South Kalimantan Tourism Agency Heriansyah said it would seek to develop tourism by continuing to increase the excellent potential of the village, among others by setting dozens of villages in South Kalimantan as a tourist village.

For example in Tapin District is Hiyung Village with its chili potency that is crowned as the hottest chili in the world, has now been exposed to foreign countries.

There is also the potential of Tamban pineapple agro-tourism in Tamban Sub-district, Barito Kuala, durian penyangat in Biih Village, Banjar District, and other natural potency spread in villages in South Kalimantan.
