Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The South Kalimantan Language Center (Balai Bahasa) promotes the Gerakan Cinta Bahasa Indonesia or Love Indonesian Language Movement to socializing the Indonesian language and evokes a sense of nationalism among the young generation.


Head of Administration Department of South Kalimantan Language Center Syamsudin in Banjarbaru on Saturday said this movement is expected to enhance appreciation to the Indonesian language, particularly in South Kalimantan.

"This is one of the efforts to inspire people to use the Indonesian language is good, true and consistent in various facilities and usage space," he said.

He said this movement took the advantage of the momentum of the 89th Sumpah Pemuda Day and the 2017 Language and Literature Month which centered in Banjarbaru City Hall.

The activity is filled with appeals to all components of society to use the Indonesian language consistently in the work environment as well as in everyday life.

"The appeals are many, through the street banners, distribution of stickers, key chains, pins, bags, pens and t-shirts in front of City Hall, Van Der Pijl park and Jalan Ahmad Yani," he said.

Dozens of participants consist of employees of Balai Bahasa, representatives of the Board of Education, Education Agency, representatives of the South Kalimantan Educational Quality Assurance Agency.

It also involves employees of Archeology Hall, BP-PAUD, and Dikmas, personnel of National and Political Unity Office (Kesbangpol), language ambassadors, kampong of fairy tales, literary communities, teachers, students, and journalists.

Expert Staff of the Mayor for Economics and Finance M Rustam said he was very supportive of the socializing of Bahasa Indonesian which is the language of the country.

"The use of Indonesian language is very instrumental in various activities of the nation so we really support the efforts of Balai Bahasa who promotes the use of Indonesian language," he said.
